4 years, 9 months, 3 weeks, 2 days...

And Sasha has learnt to ride a bike with no training wheels!!! Yesterday Daddy gave S a turn on the Dora bike which is not freewheeling & she went about 5 meters. He then took the training wheels off Nikki's bike & she's been getting better & better.

Today, after a full day out at a picnic, she slept in the car on the way home. We then went over to the high school car park & showed her how to put her feet on the ground when she stops. A pretty important skill to master when your bike only has two wheels!! And away she went! Loads & loads of laps of the carpark. Some practice stops, etc.

When we got home she just wanted to keep going around the backyard. The tiredness is kicking in, so there's been loads of frustrated tears & giving ups, etc. But she keeps going back to it. And she's starting to master it in the more confined spaces too now.

I'm just so amazed & proud. She's really quite young to have mastered the skill, esp as a first child & no close cousins to help her along.

Nikki's got it a little too. But she hasn't the confidence to keep pedalling though. We'll keep working on her as I think she has the ability. She can go 5-10mtrs already.

So proud parent moments today.

And then this evening Daddy was showing me how Nikita was able to swing herself. She's just started to master it & get the rhythm. So wonderful to see these big achievements, amongst a day filled with tears & tantrums otherwise. :)
