Incy Wincy?

Sasha has a dress-up day for school on Tuesday. They've been learning nursery rhymes & some fairy tales at school this term so she needs to go dressed as something in those themes. Of course her first choice was to go as Humpty Dumpty (there was a picture of good old Humpty on the newsletter  ).

Now we were only informed of this requirement last Tuesday, so that's given me one week to get something organised. I wracked my brains trying to come up with ideas. I thought we had a cow dress-up & I could have cut out a piece of yellow cardstock in the shape of a moon - nope, no cow dress-up. We have a pig dress-up - she could go as one of the three little pigs!! Nope, no go from Miss S. We don't want to be a fairy or a princess - that's too easy. We finally settled on Incy Wincy. So late last week I trailed around numerous shops trying to find a cheap, quality (ie. not too thin) black long-sleeve t-shirt. Got that, two pairs of stockings (one was extra large) & some fibre fill. This weekend, in fact less than 1/2 hour ago finished stuffing & sewing on the stockings to the t-shirt. It feels quite full & heavy & I don't think it looks that fab at all. So we'll see what the verdict is tomorrow. Of course about 10mins before I finished I thought again about the 3 Little Pigs - she could just go as pig # 3 - just need a kid sized wheel barrow & some 'bricks' - I'm sure with the right props I could sell the idea to her. But after all my effort, I think we'll see just how bad Incy Wincy looks first.

Full marks to S though for going with a 'different' idea instead of your run of the mill damsel in distress, she's not scared to be different this kid.
