Oh Yay!!!

Sasha & Nikita are such little legends!!! They both did a fabulous job! I was so proud of them & they looked so cute & gorgeous & lovely. Nikita was in the 3rd dance of the day & I was a sobbing mess just as she was coming on stage, you could hear them all tapping into position. lol And then they were into it.

Nikita got a bit distracted looking at the pretty stage lights, but kept up with her steps. Sasha did an awesome job with her tap routine.

At intermission we all had a chance to have a chat about how fabulous the girls were. NannaJay, Nanna Carol, Grandad Doug, Andrew, Marisa, Larissa & Grace had all come along to watch the show & Daddy was still here (even though he's actually due to be on the rig at the moment). So we felt very special that so many special people had taken time out of their busy lives, at a busy time of year, to come & watch our girls in their performance.

I was actually quite blown away at the magnitude of the work that went into the whole production. The costumes, choreography, lighting, music, not to mention all the business side & post-production - can't wait to see the video when it's available!!! And to think that the majority of this is done by 3 members of a family, with a few dress-makers & parent helpers thrown in. Just amazing stuff. Granted that they must be making some good money from the whole business, but it's money well-earnt too.

I'm so relieved that it's over & just so proud of Sasha & Nikita's performances. They weren't perfect by any means, but they tried & they had the guts to get up on stage in front of about 2000 people & give it a shot. And aside from that they've had an education in all things girly too.

I should also make a special mention of a little boy called Daniel. He absolutely stole the show whenever he was on stage. He's the same age as Sasha and dancing with the older kids quite proficiently. Seeing how much learning goes into dancing for the average kid, his natural ability is astonishing. I felt quite privileged to have the experience of seeing him dance when he was young, because if he keeps his dedication, he's an absolute superstar in the making.

YAY - isn't it just beautiful watching them come out on stage and have fun dancing. So much does go on in producing these concerts - it is amazing sometimes how it all just falls together on the day - Merry Christmas :) X Mel
