School Holidays - Term 3/4 2007

Well it's been ages since I've updated. Slacko!!

Probably no readers left!! Where there ever very many??

Anyway, Geelong won the GF. David was very happy, along with a great many other dedicated supporters who have waited a loooong time (a lifetime!!) to see a premiership.

Carlton scored Chris Judd in trading week, so things are looking a little more hopeful for us. Hopefully if Nick Stevens is fit for start of the season, we might win a few more games! Theres a few exciting young players on the squad. I hope I find time to get into it a bit more again. It's been a long time since I've actively followed the footy.

School holidays were fun. Busy though!! Our feet barely touched the ground. David got home on the 2nd day (tuesday), and then we were busy getting organised to go camping. Then we went camping to Cowaramup & stayed 4 (?) nights. We cut our stay short as we simply got rained out. The Tuesday afternoon was phenomenal. A few tents actually got flooded with approx 300mm just sitting in their tents & had to get bailed out. Our tent & Karlene & Leo's tents had a river running under them. Karlene was sitting in her chair having a glass of wine with her feet up & her jeans were still getting wet.

Our new camp bed is soooo comfy. It's off the ground, easy to set up/pack away. And as a precaution, I'd put the kids' bedding on top of our bed, and then teddys & clothes. Just to keep that stuff safe. Our tent only leaked a little, which considering how cheap it is, is quite impressive. We did have a good time, despite the weather - I say that now that I'm home, clean & dry.

Anyway, we came home & had Stef stay with us Wed, Thur, Fri night. It was so lovely to have her over. She's so kind, helpful & mature. I have to remind myself that she's only 14. It was so sad to see her go home again. :(

Then back onto cleaning & unpacking, etc. David went back offshore this morning - the two weeks over just like that.

I've come to the conclusion that camping is good fun, and is a vacation. But it's definitely not a put your feet up & relax do nothing type holiday - it's an active holiday that is proceeded & followed by a lot of work. However the kids just love it, and benefit from it hugely, & it is loads of fun and good reality check too.

I check your blog out at least twice a week (if not more) so keep those posts coming.
Perhaps we should all post more messages to encourage us to post more often.
I thoroughly enjoy reading them all.

We had a ball camping - apart from the rain (floods!), illness and whinging 2 year old (who ended up sick for the 7 days after!). Will have to book in for the next trip soon - we are all a bit mad after all!
