Moo!!

We went camping!!!

A spur of the moment decision on Saturday saw us pack up & head South to Cowaramup for a 3-day camping holiday.

The first time we've been camping as a family, the first time we've been camping together (David & I) and only the second time I've been camping since I was a kid!

It was mostly pretty great. Sasha & Nikita got right into the groove of things straight away. It was so cool to watch them enjoying the Great Outdoors.

The Good Stuff
The weather was fabulous!!
The camping ground was great (although I don't really have much to compare it to at this stage! lol)
Seeing Sasha & Nikita enjoying themselves marvellously & making lots of new friends
Seeing Sasha's confidence grow in feeding the animals at the camping ground - camel, horse, donkey, calf, sheep, goat, ducks.
The other campers were so friendly - I had a great time chatting to the people around the place & hearing their stories
The sense of achievement that we actually did it
Using all our new cool camping gear
Erecting the tent - despite leaving the instructions at home!!
The wineries, chocolate factory & fudge factory = YUMMMMM!!
Going to the edge of Australia - Augusta is the south western most point of mainland Australia.
Taking Sasha & Nikita to the point where the Indian Ocean & the Southern Ocean meet & taking a few daggy photos to prove it.
Showing Sasha & Nikita a working, huge Lighthouse.

The Bad Stuff
Nikita lost her teddy on the first night so she howled for a while until she finally dropped off to sleep.
David got really sick with a nasty viral bug & was out of action for 2 of the 3 days.
Packing the car was really hard - we really need a trailer to fit all our stuff.
We spent waaaay too much money that we don't have, so will be a bit skint for a while now.
We got home to find the dogs had NO water to drink. Mind you, they weren't that thirsty when we filled it up, so I guess it wasn't empty for too long. Glad we were only gone for 3 nights though!

All in all though it was so much fun. I can't wait to go again.
Camping is good for social and personal development (for young and old!!).

Photos to follow tomorrow (maybe!) - loads of washing & sleep to catch up on.
