Sloooow recovery

Went out for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate Rose & Pam's birthdays. OMG had just a wee bit too much to drink and paid for it in a BIG WAY all day on Sunday.

It was lovely to go out and spend some time in adult conversation and catching up with friends. But I have to say that for the few hours I was out, compared with the many hours I paid for it the next day - I'm sure there's a lesson in it somewhere for me.

Oh yeah, something along the lines of - I'm too old to party like I'm 18 again/still.

Luckily Sasha and Nikita had a lovely day on Sunday. They played so happily together. Made an awful mess of the house - inside & out, but at least they didn't fight (much!!).

David came home on Sunday night and he & the girls went to McDonald's for dinner and a play in the playground, so there was lots of happy faces in the house that night.

Monday, David went to the office for his job debrief. They'd had some downtime on the rig and he received heaps of praise for handling the problems calmly and keeping focussed on getting things up and running again.

Sasha, Nikita & I spent the day at home. Me - catching up on neglected household duties from Sunday!! & the kids had the puzzle box out, so we did heaps of jigsaws, blocks and shape puzzles. It's amazing to see their minds at work figuring out how things go. We have some 4+ jigsaws and Sasha can do them all fairly easily. David was fascinated and wanted to know who had taught her how to do them. Nikita has a go too (of course!!) and gets some pieces in place. Her perception is still a lot more trial & error, whereas Sasha now is a lot more selective about what belongs where.

Today, Sasha had kindy. David dropped her off and picked her up. Then whilst S was at kindy David, Nikita & I went to Carousel and bought some ugg boots for David, a pr of jeans each for the girls and a few prs of pj's for Sasha, and 1 pr of pj's for Nikita. This particular pr had a smaller version of the same pj's for a dolly or teddy, so the girls have their babies in bed with them tonight. Sooooo cute!!

The search for a good pattern for bootleg tracky pants for Sasha continues... Who would have thought it would be so difficult.

Swimming tomorrow. David will take Nikita and I will watch Sasha and also make arrangements for their re-enrolments for next term.
