This time 10 years ago, I was wearing a white dress and David was dressed in a suit, with waistcoat & tails. We had probably just finished our bridal waltz and Uncle Brian had done a superb job of MCing our Wedding Reception.
This time 17 years ago, David & I were probably just watching the credits to a Paul Hogan movie - our first date together.
The rest is, as they say, history. So much water under the bridge. So many laughs it is amazing. Loads of tears too - you get that with love I guess - when something matters, it really matters.
I can barely remember life before Sasha & Nikita came along, but what I can remember of our life together as "DINKS" are pretty much all good memories. David is one of the funniest, cheeriest, happiest people I have ever met and for me, that's a good thing. He brings so much positivity and perspective to my life.
Today, our 10th wedding anniversary, he was up at 4am and out of the house by 4.30am to go offshore to earn money to support our family. Somewhere along the line, we grew up, became responsible, became successful - became a family.
He left the house with tears sparkling in his eyes. To use words from my previous post - bittersweet.
