Well today was kind of a big day out. We had Jayden's 2nd birthday party this morning. It was held at the Playgroup room and the weather was fab so the kids were all outside. It was one of those nice, relaxed kind of parties where the kids were happy entertaining themselves, not getting too carried away, and giving the parents some space and an opportunity to chat.
Nikita went to the toilet about 10 times during the 2 hours we were there. It's driving me a bit bonkers TBH. We're having toiletting issues, but I won't go into them here, as frankly, I'm just OVER IT! lol. Anyway no accidents, so that's a good thing.
Then we came home had a pear and the kids went to bed. Nikita slept really well. Sasha messed about until 3.3o when I went and spoke sternly to her. She promptly then went to sleep. Unfortunately we had to be up & at 'em by 4pm to get organised. We were going to Brian and Helen's for a "sundowner" the night before Nick & Joan's wedding & to meet up with all the rellies.
Very scarey place to take raving toddler/pre-schoolers. So much wee, fragile, EXPENSIVE stuff. Luckily the girls were all so well behaved, and nothing was broken (phew!!). Strangely Sasha wouldn't talk to cousin Donna, which was such a shame. She took a real shine to Joan and led the poor girl around by the hand most of the evening. It was nice to see everyone, even though I spent 80% of my time kid-wrangling. I've lost so much of my social skills, I actually find it quite hard to make conversation with non-parents. Bit embarassing really. Very bizarre seeing Penny & Johnno all grown up & adult. Freaks me out as it just reminds me that we're all getting older.
Anyway, I need to hit the sack. Tomorrow I'm The Wedding Photographer!! As in the official and most important photographer of the day as they haven't hire one. I hope I get some good stuff, I have told them, repeatedly that I do NOT guarantee results. Luckily I have Sam looking after the girls as otherwise it would be a completely lost cause.
